The Ultimate Overwatch 2 Tier List

Why Do You Need An Overwatch 2 Tier List?

Updated (October 29, 2025): There were some changes in our Overwatch 2 tier list with the introduction of Seasons 14-19, and new heroes were added. Based on the official sources, we’ve received new heroes since November 2024 (Season 13), bringing the total roster to at least 44 characters. These new heroes are:

  • Freja (Damage Hero). Released in Season 16 (around July 2025).
  • Hazard (Tank Hero). Released in Season 19 (around October 2025).
  • Wuyang (Support Hero). Released in Season 18 (around August 2025).

The game is in Season 19 (“Haunted Masquerade”). The newest characters, Hazard and Wuyang, were released in the more recent Seasons 18 and 19. Current tier lists generally place the Tank hero Hazard in the B-Tier for competitive play. The newest Support hero, Wuyang, belongs to the B-Tier, offering high damage and healing, but with a recent reduction to their base health. While the Damage hero Freja is often ranked in the A-Tier for her high-skill ceiling and unique crossbow.

Agree or not, but Overwatch 2 still dominates the niche of GaaS in 2024. Blizzard’s game has gotten only more welcomed among hardcore veterans of Overwatch with Season 13 called “Spellbinder”. This new season brought new content, significant balance adjustments, and a meta-change in the main storyline. The YaninaGames team loves playing Overwatch 2 during long winter weekends. That’s why we decided to share our list of the strongest and weakest characters in the ultimate Overwatch 2 tier list.

Overwatch 2 features 41 characters — each with special abilities and styles — to satisfy both new and veteran gamers. However, that diversity also makes finding the best heroes quite difficult, especially when taking into account the meta updates. At this point, the Overwatch 2 hero tier list can serve as a useful guide to avoid confusion for new players. Just like in all console and mobile multiplayer games, most players and tier list websites use the system of S-to-D tiers to categorize all the available characters. We use the same system where S-tier characters are the most superior characters, and D-characters are the worst.

Season 13 and Changed Balance of Heroes

Why does the Overwatch 2 tier list for Season 13 matter?  Because Overwatch 2 isn’t just about skill, it’s about the combination of heroes with unique skills. Selecting the right hero does matter, especially if you are not very skilled in melee combats. If you do not want to be a weak link in your team, you can’t skip an expert tier list for Overwatch 2.

Overwatch 2 Tier List

Season 13 has some major changes. The changed hero balance received the old tweaks. Also, we’ve got seasonal content such as the Halloween Terror event and My Hero Academia skins. The meta was changed as well and that is why the tier lists from Season 11 and Season 12 are not working anymore.

New possibilities of creative playstyles and team pairings in Season 13. The focus this time shifted to mobility and precision skipping the tactic of raw healing. That is why heroes such as Sojourn, Tracer, and Juno became top picks in most Overwatch 2 character tier lists. You can read more about the meta of all characters in Overwatch 2 Season 13 on Reddit where users discuss all buffs, nerfs, and updates.

The Ultimate Overwatch 2 Tier List (Season 13 Included)

1) S-Tier Characters – The Best from the Best

Juno

Season 12’s breakout support character Juno is the best pick for many players, despite Season 13’s nerfs. Her Mediblaster is good for healing, but the best thing is her mobility and utility. Juno’s distance healing and instant change of positions are a game-changer. Try her massive team-wide buff to dominate the field.

Sojourn

Sojourn’s railgun still haunts opponents. A charged headshot hits for 200 points of damage – skilled players can sweep entire parties. And her ultimate skill temporarily gives infinite charge and bullets. Her Disruptor Shot no longer stalls her enemies, and her movement speed has been slightly decreased, but Sojourn is still a slugfest DPS in the right hands.

Widowmaker

Widowmaker’s one-shot skill makes her a favorite pick for many gamers. Her distance-killing power on open maps slows down the enemy teams. However, her damage diminishes on close-quarters maps. She’s map-dependent but lethal to snipers.

Ana

Ana’s kit also renders her essential for tank-centric team comps. She heals, sleep darts to break down opponents, and Nano Boost ultimate can turn the tide of a game. Although healers are less dominant on the current meta, her versatility puts her right there in the S-tier.

Orisa

Orisa’s tireless fighting spirit on the frontline clinches her role as one of the season 13 tank’s best. She can confront easily Ramattra and other tanks. Her Terra Surge ultimate skill is very slashing, so you can’t have her without it.

2) A-Tier Characters – Close to the Best Heroes

D.Va

D.Va’s mobility and crashing of backlines make her a potent tank in dive sets. She’s well-known for her multi-target kit that can deliver about 1,000 points of damage with a larger radius during a single use.

Overwatch 2 Tier List

Winston

Winston is still an ideal diving tank. He is capable of harassing the backfield and covering teammates. His new Tesla cannon (more effective at distance) also makes him much more versatile and useful in a range of contexts.

Ashe

Ashe’s dynamite skill is deadly in grouped attacks. Her long-range primary attack delivers reliable damage. Her ultimate Bob’s skill still remains a hammer, especially after the buff brought by Season 9.

Kiriko

Kiriko performs best between DPS and support roles. She has many amazing healing skills and she is very quick. This hero is one of the best backs when things go awry, as she provides temporary invincibility to others.

Tracer

The mobility and burst damage of Tracer is what make her a powerhouse on the meta right now. She’s a potent alternative to floppy bolsters and easily escapes enemy feats. She’s a killer in combination with powerful tanks.

3) B-Tier Characters – Good with Some Flaws

Reaper

Reaper is a fantastic tank-buster who kills a lot of D.Va and Winston. His healing ability is worth having for longer bouts as there are few hard healers in Season 13.

Genji

Genji’s moves and flanking flexibility keep him in play, but his lack of the ammo accuracy. Maps need to be familiar to get the most out of him.

Echo

Echo is a versatile and quick anti-tank hero. This meta limits her ability to be game-changing due to the limit on her duplicate ultimate.

Zarya

Zarya is still very potent on her high-damage beam and Graviton Surge ultimate. Her current buffs, such as the slowing of energy loss, have made her viable.

Junker Queen

Junker Queen has received enhancements to health and skills, but she just isn’t up to par with tanks that are more versatile and survivable in the meta.

4) C-Tier Characters – Occasionally Shine

Roadhog

Roadhog’s hook and foraging can occasionally shine, but he’s shaky against tethered tanks and a grid.

Bastion

Bastion’s buff made him more mobile, but his standing-still moments make him not very efficient during fast-paced battles.

Symmetra

Symmetra’s leaning towards shield-heavy combos and narrow maps makes her a niche option at best. The teleport can be helpful but it never justifies her being included in a team comp.

5) D-Tier Characters – Avoid At Any Cost

Lifeweaver

Lifeweaver’s stultifying healing performance and mercenary aesthetic make him impossible to have a certain role in any team build. His impact can be a highlight in special cases, but overall, he is an average support at best.

The best thing about Overwatch 2 is its huge global community. Overwatch 2 Tank Tier List (Season 13 Included)

Overwatch 2 Tanks are the core of any squad. When charged, they can take down damage to maintain their squidgy compatriots. Season 13 has introduced major meta-changes, and some tanks have become better than others. Tanks have to play two roles – protect their units and decimate the enemy’s defense.

This is our tank tier list of Overwatch 2:

Tier

Heroes With Obvious Tank Roles

S

Zarya, Sigma, Mauga

A

D.Va, Orisa, Junker Queen

B

Doomfist, Ramattra, Winston, Roadhog

C

Reinhardt, Wrecking Ball

Utilities and toughness dominate tanks such as Zarya and Sigma, while classics such as Reinhardt and Wrecking Ball struggle in this role. Having the tank ability that fits the new meta of Season 13 and following Season 14.

Overwatch 2 DPS Tier List

DPS heroes are Overwatch 2’s major damage dealers. They can kill important targets and provide cover for their squads. Because every hero is different in terms of their talents and skills, you should pay a lot of attention to your DPS pick. Season 13 has reshuffled these roles and meta, too.

The YaninaGames team chose such heroes for the Overwatch 2 DPS tier list after Season 13:

Tier

Heroes with DPS Roles

S

Tracer, Sojourn

A

Ashe, Sombra, Cassidy, Venture, Pharah

B

Widowmaker, Reaper, Soldier 76, Mei, Bastion, Echo, Genji

C

Symmetra, Torbjorn

D

Hanzo, Junkrat

Tracer and Sojourn are the clear heroes of the meta, using unmatchable mobility and devastating accuracy to take the lead. A-tier heroes such as Ashe and Pharah, on the other hand, make good choices with adequate map control and synergy. But Hanzo and Junkrat are unable to secure a slender place in Season 13, outclassed by faster, more fluid options.

Overwatch 2 Support Tier List After Season 13

Support characters are “invisible” heroes of Overwatch 2. They can save their team’s lives while adding utility and damage to change the course of the battle. They won’t get as many kills as DPS or tanks but their role is equally important. You can’t neglect the support heroes for your team. Season 13 changed the status of some supports.

That is why you should check the Overwatch 2 support tier list after the Spellbinder update.

Tier

Heroes with Support Roles

S

Ana, Lucio, Kiriko

A

Baptiste, Illari

B

Moira, Brigitte, Juno

C

Zenyatta

D

Mercy, Lifeweaver

Ana, Lucio, and Kiriko are the top support picks of Season 13. Ana heals and disturbs with sleep darts and Nano Boost, she’s a necessity. Lucio’s versatility and collective buffs bring unmatched adaptability. Kiriko still holds the upper hand with her teleporting, high-healing, and defining final attack.

Tips for Playing Overwatch 2 Tier List Characters in Season 13

The Spellbinder Season 13 brought a lot of nerfs, buffs, and updates that drastically changed the gameplay and affected the choice of favorite characters.

  • Each new patch brings significant balance adjustments, with upgraded Stealth and Hack skills.
  • Use new skins and cosmetics to stand out and master the magic skills they bring along too.
